No-Salt Hardness Solution System

Advantages:

  • does not use salt and does not add sodium to the water.
  • requires no control head, no programming and no moving parts
  • No electricity needed. The up-flow conditioner works on water pressure alone.
  • no backwashing necessary and therefore no drain line needed and no wasted water
  • 100% Scale prevention
  • The unit not only prevents scale from hardness minerals from forming, but it also dissolves existing scale.
  • Almost totally maintenance free. Life expectancy of the conditioning medium is in years--the exact life depending on usage habits and water quality. Five years is a reasonable expectation for a residential unit. Media replacement is is  easy.
  • Beneficial minerals retained for more healthful drinking water
  • Improves the efficiency of water-using appliances
  • Environmentally friendly

Limitations:

If  Iron and Manganese are present in your water, then pre-filtration is required.   Also, Metro Water Filter of the South’s conventional water conditioning system has the ability to remove these minerals.

How it works:

Many water supplies, municipal and well, contain hardness minerals (calcium and magnesium). These minerals can form a scale and create problems in water heaters, washing machines, dishwashers, coffee makers, humidifiers and plumbing systems. Our No-Salt Hardness Solution System uses filtration media that prevents and removes hardness mineral scale.

The overall filtration process of the media used in this system is broken down into three phases.  In the first phase, the calcium and magnesium is removed from the water. The catalytic surface of the media pulls the calcium and magnesium ions from the water and converts these  ions into harmless nano crystal particles. These nano crystals are so small that they are approximately one billionth of a meter; 100,000 times smaller than a single strand of hair.

In the second phase of the filtration process, the existing scale in the piping and hardware is removed. The nano crystal particles are neutral and are unable to attach to any surfaces, but due to their large surface area and nano structure, bind to the calcium ions in the scale, gradually breaking the grid structure of the calcium deposits.   Over time, the calcium scale deposits within  the pipes and equipment are removed.

In the third phase and final phase filtration process, a 3 to 5 micron protective corrosion later is formed.  This layer forms because of the reaction of the nano surface of the  crystals and the metallic surface of the pipes.   As soon as the protective layer is formed it can no longer grow bigger, but it creates complete protection.
